HOW TO APPLY
Applying for a place in Sixth Form is straightforward. A key aspect of the application process is receiving appropriate advice and guidance.
Prospectus - a good starting point for finding out about the Sixth Form and the courses we offer. Follow this up by talking to your teachers and current Sixth Form students. You can also find out more information about courses on the exam board websites.
Sixth Form Open Night - a chance to find out about the courses that are available and what they are like. You will also have the chance to discuss your future with a wide range of staff and current Sixth Form students.
Applying - Current Students
Sixth Form interviews – February/March. All Year 11s are interviewed and given a chance to discuss their plans for the following year. This is your chance to apply to Sixth Form formally and to give us an idea of which subjects you want to study and why.
Year 12 Induction – June/July - all prospective Year 12 students are invited into school to attend an induction day. During the day students will have a chance to attend taster lessons in all subjects.
Post GCSE results interview – all prospective Year 12 students will have a further interview with senior staff following their GCSE results. This is to check that students are on the appropriate courses and to offer any further advice and guidance on selecting the right courses.
Applying - External Applicants
External applicants - external applicants will be interviewed separately, before and after GCSE results, by the Head of Sixth Form. Prospectuses and application forms are available from school. External applicants are very welcome to attend the Open Night and the Induction Day.
