COURAGE & CONFIDENCE - ST MADELEINE SOPHIE BARAT

SACRED HEART IN THE TOP 250 SCHOOLS ... AGAIN!

Sacred Heart has again been listed as one of the top 250 secondary schools in the whole of the UK. The list compares over 3,000 state funded schools and ranks them in order of their GCSE and A-Level results.  Sacred Heart is one of only 5 schools in the North East to be listed in the top 250.

At Sacred Heart we passionately believe that a great education has the power to transform lives and behind the headlines and the results are the ambitions and futures of our girls. This year 100% of girls with offers for high tariff courses such as Oxford, Cambridge, Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry secured places and Level 3 apprenticeships were secured with Sage and Virgin Money. This success is a testament to our desire to ensure that all of our girls have the best education possible, that they realise their potential and leave Sacred Heart with the courage to take on new challenges, confident in the knowledge they can achieve great things.

Sacred Heart Catholic High School has made the table ranking the 250 top secondary schools in the whole of the UK on a number of occasions.  Many schools on this list are selective grammar schools with only 71 comprehensive schools making this prestigious group.

Compiled annually, the Sunday Times top 250 list compares more than 3,000 state funded schools across the UK and ranks them in order of their GCSE and A Level results.

It is based on a combination of the percentage of pupils who got A*-B grades at A Level and A*-A grades at GCSE.

Sacred Heart has been number 210 with 66.1 per cent and 31.2 per cent respectively.

This is very pleasing as it demonstrates the original mission of our school, that Sacred Heart has always devoted itself to the pursuit of excellence and the education of women, in order to give our students the very best life chances.  This is always at the heart of what we do: a great education has the power to transform women’s lives.
