Thanks to the generous support of the Taylor Family Foundation, we had the incredible opportunity to travel to London and attend a performance of Bizet’s opera ‘Carmen’ at the Royal Opera House. For many of us, it was our first time visiting London and our first experience of opera.

We all agreed it was one of the best school trips we've ever been on. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how grand and beautiful the Royal Opera House was. We spent time admiring the architecture and noticing all the intricate details; being there made us feel like we were part of something really special.

Watching ‘Carmen’ itself was an unforgettable experience. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed the dramatic story and characterful music. The performers and the orchestra were so talented, and the way the singing and acting came together made a big impact on us. Some of us never thought we would like opera, but this experience changed our minds!

We especially loved seeing how the performance was put together; the live orchestra, the costumes, the set design and the atmosphere. Everything felt so professional and impressive. It was fascinating to see all the elements work together to create such a powerful show.

We also really enjoyed being in London, exploring the area around the theatre, and spending time with our friends. Being in a new city made the day even more exciting and memorable.

Overall, we are all so grateful for the chance to go on this trip; it was a wonderful and inspiring experience.
