Cooking for Life with Year 7
On 2 April, we welcomed Nick, a chef from Cooking for Life, into school to lead a Year 7 session on healthy eating. He shared his extensive knowledge of world cuisines and demonstrated how to prepare a Mexican-inspired dish, with the help of three enthusiastic student volunteers. Reading Passport Lunch
This Spring term KS3 students were challenged to read around their subjects and to collect stamps for their Reading Passports. Students earned a stamp in their passport and a merit for every book read from our subject reading lists. The Passports help to encourage students to read books that they might not usually choose and that link to the curriculum. Articulation Prize Success for Ella
This year, some of our Year 12 students entered the National Gallery’s prestigious Articulation Prize, a competition for sixth form students aimed to develop critical thinking and presentation skills by discussing art. Year 7 Netball team show grit and spirit against Dame Allan’s
The Year 7 netball team played Dame Allan’s in a league fixture and produced some fantastic performances. The A team showed great determination to come from behind and secure an impressive 10–7 victory, with outstanding shooting from Emily. The B team also played brilliantly, narrowly losing 3–1 in a very closely contested match. Both teams demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience, and some lovely passages of play throughout.
