Bronze DofE Expedition: Resilience, Teamwork and Determination

Congratulations to our fantastic students who successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition this month!

Over the course of their expedition, the girls faced the challenges of navigating their route, carrying everything they needed, and working together to reach their destination. They approached the experience with determination, positivity and an impressive sense of teamwork.

As every expedition team discovers, things do not always go exactly to plan! For some this came sooner than they thought when they found that the OS map and the real world didn't match exactly and ended up a little lost! We are so proud of the way the recovered the situation and planned for the second day to ensure that things ran a bit more smoothly.  They showed real resilience and perseverance.

It was wonderful to see all our students putting the values of our school and our goal of Social Awareness into practice: showing kindness; supporting others; recognising the importance of working together and understanding; and showing respect for the countryside and the people who live and work there.  Their care for one another and willingness to help their teammates demonstrated that success is not simply about reaching the finish line and minibus, but about how we support those travelling alongside us.

The expedition provided the girls with an opportunity to develop their confidence, independence, leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as to create some fantastic memories together.

We are incredibly proud of everything they achieved. Well done to all our Year 11 Bronze DofE girls!
