ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES BROUGHT TO LIFE BY ENGLISH TOURING OPERA

This March, Sacred Heart High School was visited by the Olivier Award-winning opera company English Touring Opera, who brought their newest show The Vanishing Forest to the North-East.

Based on the characters from Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, this thought-provoking opera for children covered themes including deforestation and environmental stewardship.

Also in attendance were our own Junior Choir and the students of Year 3 from English Martyr’s Catholic Primary School, whose excellent singing and participation helped to bring the story to life!
