Ethos Updates - Big Mass Celebrates Our Goal of Community❤️

Our annual Big Mass was a beautiful celebration of everything that makes our school community so special. Gathering together as students, staff, governors and guests, we reflected on the theme "Hearts on Fire" and gave thanks for all that we have achieved together throughout the year.

In the lead-up to the Mass, our Goals Ambassadors met for their final Goals session with Mrs Mason. During the session, students worked together to prepare meaningful Bidding Prayers and Offertory contributions, helping to ensure that the voices and experiences of our students were at the heart of the celebration.

The Ambassadors also marked the end of the year by creating a special video reflecting on what the Goal of Community means to them. Their thoughtful reflections spoke about belonging, supporting one another, showing kindness, and working together to achieve success. The video was displayed at the beginning of the Mass and provided a powerful reminder of the strength and spirit of our school family.

The Mass itself was a wonderful occasion, celebrating not only our faith but also the many achievements of our school community over the past year. The theme of Hearts on Fire was brought to life through the beautiful artwork created by students and the fingerprint display, which symbolised that every single member of our school has an important role to play within our community.

The celebration was led by Father Damien, with students taking an active role throughout the Mass. Our Goals Ambassadors, Head Girls, and members of the Ethos Team led prayers, readings and offertory contributions with confidence and reverence, demonstrating their commitment to serving the school community.

Music played a central role in the celebration, with our talented School Choir, led by Mr Oates and Mr Cornish, providing uplifting and inspiring music that added to the prayerful atmosphere of the Mass.

As we reach the end of another successful school year, Big Mass gave us the opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate all that we have accomplished together. It was a fitting reminder that when we support one another and work together with our hearts on fire, we can achieve great things as a community.

After Big Mass, all students and staff received the long-standing tradition of the Sacred Heart biscuit to end or special celebrations.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Big Mass such a memorable and meaningful celebration
