One of the activities running throughout the week to celebrate European Day of Languages was a languages-themed Scavenger Hunt. This scavenger hunt involved pupils going around the school to different departments where they would find a clue to solve/interesting fact to write down which linked languages to the subject.
For example, in music they would find a selection of Italian words and had to correctly identify the three Italian words which are also musical terms. Additionally, next to one of the Chemistry classrooms was a particularly tricky clue with a Periodic Table to help them - this was because lots of the atomic symbols come from the Latin terms for the elements.
It was fantastic to see some of the pupils extremely excited as they rushed to hand in their completed sheet before lunchtime of Day 1 was even over!
