Former student dances with GCSE Students

Year 10 & 11 GCSE Dance students had the opportunity to take part in a workshop with professional dancer and former Sacred Heart student Hayley Walker. After sitting her own GCSE exams Hayley successfully auditioned for a place at Rambert, the world renown school for Ballet and Contemporary dance.

Aged just 16 Hayley moved to London to study and then completed her master's degree in performance and professional practices at the age of 20. Hayley has worked as a professional dancer and model ever since.

On November 10th Hayley returned to our studio to teach repertoire from Itzik Galili's ' A Linha Curva' - a piece the girls are required to study on the course. All of the girls were put through their paces including a technique class and the rigorous fusion of Contemporary, Capoeira and Ballet. The girls really enjoyed learning the movement that they will be writing about in their exam next Summer! Hayley was very impressed with the girl's work ethic and ability to pick up the movement so quickly. Hayley will be back to work with the girls next year and has the left the girls feeling inspired and motivated to achieve their goals.
