To coincide with the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival—one of the most prestigious celebrations of cinema, showcasing international films and eagerly awaited premieres—our school has been celebrating the magic of French film right here at home.
Students in both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 have had the opportunity to enjoy a specially selected film, either in French or set in France. Our KS3 students were treated to the hilarious Mr. Bean’s Holiday, a light-hearted film that follows Mr. Bean’s misadventures across France. Meanwhile, KS4 students viewed the critically acclaimed Les Choristes, a moving story about the power of music and second chances in a strict French boarding school.
These screenings not only offered a fun cultural experience but also gave students the chance to hear authentic French in context—boosting both their language skills and appreciation for international cinema.
Vive le cinéma français !
