Macmillan talk with Year 8

Olwyn, a Macmillan volunteer, delivered an excellent and informative talk for Year 8 in May, on the risks around cancer and the vital work carried out by Macmillan. She spoke with warmth, clarity, and compassion, making a sensitive topic feel approachable and easy to understand.

The talk was very engaging and gave students a much better awareness of cancer risk factors, the importance of early detection, and the support available for people affected by cancer. Olwyn also explained the wide range of services Macmillan provides, from practical advice to emotional and financial support, which was both inspiring and reassuring.

We are very grateful to Olwyn for giving her time and sharing such valuable information. Her passion for supporting others was clear throughout, and the session left a lasting positive impression.
