“Not Everything That Matters Gets Marked”

School can sometimes seem defined by grades, targets, and exams, with success measured and compared. At Sacred Heart, however, we believe that some of the most important aspects of education cannot be captured in a mark book.
Creativity, imagination, resilience, compassion and our community are at the centre of Sacred Heart. Alongside academic success, we are committed to nurturing the whole person, helping every student to discover their strengths, grow in confidence and make a positive contribution to society. This is why Factory resonates so strongly with our school ethos.
Created by the Royal Shakespeare Company and LUNG, the play celebrates the stories, experiences and creativity that flourish within our classrooms while asking important questions about what we truly value in education.

Performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Next Generation Act Company, a talented ensemble of young people from RSC Associate Schools across England, Factory shines a light on the power of creativity and self-expression. We are especially proud to celebrate the third year of involvement for three of our own students, Goodness Odumade, Erin Devine (Y11), and Angelie Riconalla (Y13) who took to the stage this month. The production forms part of the RSC's 20-year celebration of partnership work with schools and communities and has been developed in collaboration with LUNG, Associate Schools, Associate Regional Theatres and the University of Birmingham.
Through authentic voices and compelling visual storytelling, Factory reminds us that education is about far more than results. It celebrates the qualities that help young people thrive, many of which may never receive a grade but leave a lasting impact.
