On 20–21 August 2025, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Next Generation Act returned to The Other Place in Stratford-upon-Avon with another outstanding performance, directed by Paul Ainsworth. We are especially proud to celebrate the second year of involvement for three of our own students, Goodness Odumade, Erin Devine (Y10), and Angelie Riconalla (Y12). In this prestigious long-term talent development programme for young people across the country.

Over the course of two residentials, the company worked intensively with theatre professionals, developing their craft and rehearsing this compelling morality story by William Shakespeare and Thomas Middleton. In this year’s production, Goodness impressed as Alcibiades, the principled military leader; Erin brought warmth and loyalty to Lucilius, Timon’s faithful servant; and Angelie demonstrated remarkable versatility by taking on both the roles of the Jeweller and Phrynia. Their participation continues to highlight the depth of talent and commitment nurtured through the RSC’s Next Generation programme.

Performing on the round stage of The Other Place, with the audience so close to the action, left no room for error. Reviews comment that the cast delivered faultless performances, enhanced by well-timed choreography and numerous powerful songs. The explosion of applause and cheering at the end of the play was thoroughly deserved. Congratulations to our talented students, we can’t wait to see what you do this year!
