Year 9 Chapel lessons

This half term, Year 9 students completed their first chapel lesson of the year as part of their Religious Studies curriculum. The focus of the session was “Created in Love, Called to Dignity: Every Person Matters”, exploring the belief that every individual is made in the image and likeness of God and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Students linked this theme to Catholic Social Teaching, reflecting on how they can recognise the value of every person in their daily lives. They also spent time thinking about the scripture from Ephesians: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” Through discussion and reflection, students considered how God calls each of us to use our gifts to serve others and make a positive difference in the world.

The lesson concluded with prayer and a special mission: Words of Worth. Students were challenged to use their words to encourage, support and build others up, and put their faith into action through kindness and respect. We look forward to seeing how Year 9 live out this mission throughout the term.
