On Friday 8th November, orchestral musicians from years 7-13 participated in a regional 'Big Play Day' at RGS Newcastle. Students worked in instrumental sections (strings, brass, woodwind, percussion) to learn Heitor Villa-Lobos' fantastic piece 'The Little Train of the Caipira', culminating in a large-scale public performance featuring over 200 young musicians from across the North-East. This was a fantastic opportunity for members of our Senior Orchestra to experience playing in a larger symphonic ensemble and was a memorable day for all involved!
