Forty Year 8 students recently visited SafetyWorks in Newcastle to learn practical ways to stay safe in their local area. The visit included participation in four interactive workshops designed to raise awareness about everyday safety challenges. These sessions helped students understand risks and how to respond confidently in different situations.
The workshops covered topics such as fire safety, road awareness, personal security, and emergency response. Thanks to the support of Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue, students gained valuable knowledge through hands-on activities and expert guidance. This experience aimed to build their confidence and encourage responsible behaviour in their communities.
