The Return of Lip Sync Battle: bigger, bolder, and for a brilliant cause!
This term marks the incredible return of one of the most anticipated events in the Sacred Heart calendar: Lip Sync Battle! Now in its third year, this student and staff talent show is not just about glitter, glam, and legendary dance moves—it’s also a powerful way for our school community to come together and raise funds for our charity of the year, St Cuthbert’s Care.
Every year, the event has grown bigger and bolder, with this year seeing a record-breaking 130 students sign up across 40 groups, each preparing a performance to wow audiences and secure their place in the grand final on Monday 14th July. The competition has taken place over four action-packed rounds, showcasing everything from pop princesses to rock legends, and even the occasional surprise staff appearance!
The challenge? To dress up, step into the shoes of a famous singer or band and perform in front of a buzzing audience of over 450 students and staff.
The feedback from students has once again been overwhelmingly positive, with many calling Lip Sync their favourite event of the whole year. It has been heart-warming to watch students shine on stage, celebrate one another’s talents, and truly enjoy every moment.
The real highlight of Lip Sync is the way it unites our school—from students across all year groups stepping out of their comfort zones, to staff joining in the fun and supporting behind the scenes. The energy, encouragement, and camaraderie have made this event one of the most loved of the entire school year. Last year, we raised over £1700 for our nominated charity St Cuthbert’s Care and this year we hope to surpass this.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to every student who performed, every staff member who supported, and every person who bought a ticket to cheer them on. The joy, laughter, and sheer talent seen on stage has made Lip Sync Battle 2025 one to remember.
We can’t wait to reveal our 2025 champions—and to share the final fundraising total with the Sacred Heart Network. Until then, thank you for helping us celebrate what Sacred Heart is all about: courage, creativity, community, and compassion.
