Pop-up Nurses - Vaping and Smoking

On Tuesday 1st October we welcomed some of our lovely school nursing team into school to hold a pop-up event at lunchtime on the dangers of smoking and vaping. Students were eager to chat to them about the possible health risks looking at both short term and long term impacts for adults and children.

Many children were able to suggest reasons why a school child might try vaping or smoking, and most could also give reasons why both of these activities have a negative impact on health.

The nurses were impressed with the students prior knowledge, and how well they took part in discussions, as well as their enthusiasm to learn new facts.
