On Wednesday 11th March we were delighted to welcome members of the Children North East team to school for a special pop-up event focusing on relationships, communication, and student wellbeing. The session provided an opportunity for students to speak openly, ask questions, and access advice in a supportive environment.
One of the team members present was Bekki, who many of our students may already recognise. Bekki runs a weekly relationship advice drop-in session in school each Friday at lunchtime in the Chaplain’s Office, located next to the chapel. Because of her ongoing work with our students, she knows the school community well and is experienced in supporting young people with a wide range of relationship and communication topics.
The pop-up event proved to be extremely popular, with hundreds of students choosing to attend to chat with the team, ask questions, and gather information. The relaxed and welcoming setting allowed students to engage comfortably with the advisors and explore topics that matter to them.
We are very grateful to the Children North East team for taking the time to visit and support our students. Their expertise and approachable manner made the event both informative and engaging, and the positive response from students demonstrates how valuable these opportunities are.
Students who would like further support, advice, or simply someone to talk to are reminded that Bekki will continue to host her regular drop-in sessions every Friday lunchtime in the Chaplain’s Office. Everyone is welcome to pop in for a friendly chat or confidential guidance.
