On 2 April, we welcomed Nick, a chef from Cooking for Life, into school to lead a Year 7 session on healthy eating. He shared his extensive knowledge of world cuisines and demonstrated how to prepare a Mexican-inspired dish, with the help of three enthusiastic student volunteers.
The dish included a variety of vegetables and seeds, alongside beef as a source of protein and rice as a source of carbohydrates, with optional spice levels to suit different tastes. A total of 25 students had the opportunity to sample the dish, and it was very well received.
