Over the last few weeks of our first half term all students at Sacred Heart, from Years 7-11, have been given packs of feminine hygiene products. These are continuously available to all students, and include a range of pads, tampons, lil-lets and period pants. Students are taught about the causes of, and reasons for the menstrual cycle in Year 7 Science lessons, and again multiple times as they go through school. We find that experiencing on-going exposure to education and informal discussion about periods helps to combat embarrassment and boost confidence around this topic.
