This month, our newly elected Goals Ambassadors came together for an inspiring introductory session focused on the Sacred Heart Goal of Community. These students, chosen to support and promote our school’s ethos and values, worked within their year teams to reflect on what community means to them personally and how it is lived out across our school.
As part of the session, students prepared bidding prayers which will be featured in our Goals Commissioning Mass in November. These prayers, born from genuine reflection and collaboration, will allow students to contribute meaningfully to our school’s liturgical life.
Our Sixth Form students played a key role in the session, having been trained beforehand to support students in Years 7–11. Their guidance ensured that all Goals Ambassadors understood their responsibilities, which include:
Helping with Heart on Fire Awards – spotting acts of kindness, handing out postcards, and updating displays.
Supporting liturgies, Masses, and events – ensuring that each occasion is a meaningful experience for the school community.
Leading form reflections or moments of prayer – encouraging peers to engage thoughtfully and spiritually.
Being part of community and charity projects – contributing to initiatives such as the Care Home Cards project and the Canny Christmas Food Bank project.
We are excited to see how they will carry the Goal of Community forward throughout the year and beyond, making a real difference both within our school and in the wider world.
