Weird Visit

Members of Junior Choir recently enjoyed a highly enjoyable educational visit to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle to attend a performance of the brand-new musical WEIRD!  The trip gave our committed singers and musicians the opportunity to experience a professional theatre production inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, helping to bring their learning in music, drama and English to life.

The performance was energetic, engaging and thoughtfully staged, and students responded enthusiastically throughout.  Many commented on how valuable it was to see how singing and storytelling are combined in a musical theatre staging, and how it deepened their understanding of themes studied in school.  Overall, the visit was an inspiring and enjoyable experience, and a valuable addition to students’ learning beyond the classroom.
