Congratulations to our KS3 and 4 LAMDA students who passed their exams with flying colours. All students secured merits or distinctions in their grade 1 – 5 exams this term,. This year pupils entered a range of solo, duo, and trio combined acting and musical theatre exams in addition to preparing answers for the knowledge round of the exam. The examiner commented widely on our student’s confidence, skill and ability to engage an audience.

LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies, offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years. LAMDA is recognised as an awarding organisation by Ofqual. The grades are an excellent addition to any CV and from grade 5, be used as extra UCAS points which help with University entrance requirements.

Within weekly lessons and exams pupils learn about all aspects of creating a performance including physical and vocal expression, character, set and lighting design, costume, stagecraft, listening, reacting, and teamwork. Through the knowledge section of the exams, pupils learn about the wider and historical context of a play, and how to present their ideas and research confidentially and articulately.

The aim of LAMDA training is to provide our students with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be successful: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.
