Sacred Heart Sixth Form is a strong community, where diversity is celebrated and opportunities to explore personal development are plentiful.  Our Sixth Form vision is to enable students, regardless of their starting point, to realise their potential by maximising their academic abilities and developing their character and spiritual wellbeing. A great education has the power to transform lives, and this is what we aim to do.

2026 started off with our Year 11 into Year 12 Open Evening. This event gave our Year 11 students, along with students from St. Cuthbert’s and other schools, the chance to discover what it is like to study at our outstanding Sixth Form. Attendees were able to explore our wide range of subjects and ask questions to both teachers and current Sixth Form students. It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout of students and parents, making the evening a truly exciting start to the year.

Our calendar of events for Year 11 really kicks off every January, when each Year 11 form class is invited to attend a Sixth Form brunch. This provides an informal opportunity to speak with our current Sixth Form students and gain a first-hand insight into what life in Sixth Form is really like.

Year 11 students are encouraged to submit questions in advance, which our Sixth Form students are always happy to answer. These sessions take place while students enjoy an indulgent hot chocolate, latte, or water from Madeleines, our Sixth Form café.

As part of our Sixth Form preparation programme, we also run subject taster sessions from Monday 22nd June to Wednesday 24th June. These sessions allow students to experience A level study in up to eight different subjects of their choice. In addition, students take part in Sixth Form specific sessions focusing on A level study skills, how to make the most of Sixth Form life and progression pathways post Sixth Form.
