On Wednesday 10th September the Year 11 students attended a ‘post-16 choices’ presentation as part of Sacred Heart’s careers curriculum. The session was delivered by Rob Goodwin from the University of Leeds who spoke to students about their potential future pathways including A Levels, BTEC qualifications and Apprenticeships. The session included information on how to use the UCAS website as a tool to find out what qualifications students need for potential careers in the future.
Following this session, Rob delivered two additional sessions to both Year 12 and Year 13 as part of the Sixth Form careers curriculum. The Year 12 session covered ‘competitive applications’ and focused on Russell Group Universities and the application process and Year 13 looked at ‘why choose Leeds?’ Students heard how Leeds university is ranked 9th in the UK for employability which is an impressive statistic.
