In November, we were delighted to welcome Vicky Lorenzato, the Sacred Heart Network Coordinator, to our school for a special session with our Sixth Form Goals Ambassadors. Vicky began by exploring the history and origins of the Society of the Sacred Heart, helping students appreciate the global network they are part of and the vision of Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, whose mission to shape minds and hearts continues to guide Sacred Heart education today. Her insights allowed students to see themselves as part of something much larger—a community rooted in faith, service, and personal growth.

The session then moved into a reflection on leadership, encouraging our Ambassadors to think about what it truly means to lead with purpose, compassion, and integrity. Vicky challenged them to consider how their actions can inspire the younger years and, in doing so, become living examples of the Sacred Heart Goals.
A particularly energising part of the workshop involved students discussing potential initiatives they would like to introduce or develop this year. From outreach ideas to whole-school engagement projects, the Ambassadors generated thoughtful, creative proposals aimed at strengthening community, deepening spirituality, and promoting personal growth across all year groups.
To capture the spirit of the day, here’s what two of our Ambassadors had to say:
Mercy (Year 12):“Being a Goals Ambassador has made me realise how much influence we can have in shaping the school community. It’s rewarding to know that what we do can genuinely inspire others.”
Victoria (Year 12):“I loved learning more about the Sacred Heart history. It made me proud to continue the legacy and think of ways to encourage the younger students to get involved.”
We are incredibly grateful to Vicky for her time, wisdom, and guidance. Her visit has left our Sixth Form Ambassadors motivated, informed, and excited to lead with the values that lie at the heart of our school community.
