The Geography department took a group of 32 Year 9 students to Sky Up Academy Studios in Livingston, Scotland on Monday 5th December.
This was an exceptional opportunity where students gained a more in-depth understanding of contemporary global issues that are currently affecting both people and the natural environment. This helped build on their knowledge of climate change and they had the fantastic opportunity of applying this when they had the task of creating their own news report. To create their own news report, they worked independently with the guidance of Sky experts. The students used cutting-edge technology that is used to create Sky content. Additionally, they spent some time exploring the studios where they were exposed to a wide range of job opportunities and engaged well in Q&A with the staff there.
Overall, the students represented Sacred Heart excellently and they did a great job of embedding the school’s goal of community by working together and supporting each other.
